Viktor’s Senior Session

Viktor’s senior session almost had to be postponed. Germany’s spring weather can be volatile, and the day of his session, was no different. It had been raining all day, but miraculously cleared right before the start of his session. You would never guess it by looking at the photo above. With blue skies and stillness, it looks like a beautiful summer day. The above location is one of my favorite locations to shoot in downtown Wiesbaden, no matter what the weather. With the Rathaus on the left, the Market Church in the background, and the mirrored restaurant on the right, photos here always turn out magical. Viktor’s senior session was no different.

Another favorite spot of mine is the market fountain on the front side of the Rathaus. During Viktor’s session, the sun poured onto the fountain brilliantly illuminating its gold statue. Although the streets were busy, it was a gorgeous stop on our walk. After the Market, we went to the Kurhaus, the most popular shooting location in Wiesbaden. Even on a cold weekday evening, the Kurhaus and Staatstheater were packed with people. We made the best of it and captured some wonderful images around the fountains and using the architecture of the nearby buildings. The sun brilliantly stayed through the end of the session and helped us fight the cold.

Many teens are not a fan of photo sessions, but it was a joy to hear Viktor tell me how much he enjoyed his session. We ended the session with some photos of Viktor staring into the sunset while sitting on the railing of the Staatstheater. Little did he know the theater was on a break and there were at least 40 people watching him pose from above. We lucked out with our weather as well; just after leaving the clouds opened up and drenched the city again.
