Baby {B}

If you’ve ever wondered what a newborn mini-session looks like, this is it. Baby {B} was in the studio for just about an hour and we got so many darling shots during his session. Newborn mini-sessions are only an hour long, and babies are wrapped so they sleep well. I started Baby {B}’s session with a German theme. The pretzels, hat, and beer stein are my most popular prop for boys and girls alike here in Germany. I usually pair these props with a neutral background, but decided on green for Baby {B} and I loved the contrast. From the German theme it was a nice transition to the Hungry Caterpillar. I have had the Hungry Caterpillar set for almost 14 years. I still think it’s darling.

Blue, green, and cream are the most requested colors for boys, and that’s what I went with for Baby {B}. Color matching can get a bit boring, so for a bit of a pop, I added yellow to the blue. It perfectly matched a sleepy cap I have. I couldn’t resist adding the teddy bear as well. After the blue, I transitioned to a cream backdrop sticking with shades of brown. The brown sleepy cap and pageboy cap with glasses were a sweet pairing with the colors. I normally color match everything, but for Baby {B} I decided to keep the different shades of brown for visual appeal.

Our next set was on my blue flokati rug. It’s such a beautiful shade of blue I decided to keep it simple with the same shades. However, I couldn’t resist taking a few with one my handmade cotton candy props. We finished the session with Baby {B} surrounded by greenery in one of my wine box props. Another favorite by clients here in Germany.
