Falling Leaves & a Castle

Schloss Biebrich is a popular location for photos here in Wiesbaden. It’s a beautiful castle, still in operation, it has an extensive park with fountains, ponds, strolling paths, and the north end has a small castle. For {G}’s senior session we stayed close to the main castle. The castle in itself is breathtaking with visual interest, but in the fall it’s magnificent. Unfortunately, the lawn had just been aerated so the beautiful expanse of green was lackluster, but the leaves and dramatic skies made up for it.

{G} is a fun young woman, so we started her session with playing in the freshly fallen leaves. She was also very proud of her beautiful long hair, so I made sure to include hair flips and swings to add movement. The day was cold and rainy. We even had to take a ten minute break to hide under leaves while it rained. Although the skies never cleared, the rain thankfully stopped and we continued our session.

The leaves were everywhere, so I wanted to make sure the fall colors were the focal point of Miss {G}’s photos. I love the capture of {G} by the fountain pool shot from behind the leaf-topped water. It creates beautiful perspective. After the fountain pool we got closer to the castle. As is a frequent occurrence, the day of her session coincided with someone’s wedding at the castle. I posed her by the castle windows to capture the illuminated chandeliers in the background. It created a bit of fairytale to her session.

We finished her session capturing the expansive park grounds with colorfully lined fall trees. A few more hair swings were included for fun. Her natural beauty, fun nature, and genuine smiles were a joy to capture, and her session is a favorite.
