Baby Oliver was one of my first babies of 2020. His parents first contacted me for their pregnancy announcement session in the spring of 2019. After that I photographed their gender reveal session followed by their Christmas maternity session. Finally in January of 2020 it was time for Oliver’s newborn session. It was such a pleasure working with his parents and witnessing them grow into a beautiful family of three.
Oliver’s newborn session was a 1-hour wrapped session. We went with earthy colors such as browns, greens, blues, and a pop of red for Valentine’s Day. First, I wrapped Oliver in a brown wrap, put a brown sleep cap on his head, and laid him on a furry brown blanket. After a few shots I traded the brown sleep cap up for a fur-lined, knit hat.
Following the , I moved to my floor for bucket poses. I wrapped him in a blue, knit wrap and laid him in a hammered silver bucket. Following the blue cap I put with a grey and blue cap with a chin strap. Unfortunately, as cute as the hat is, it’s also scratchy on baby chins so I moved on quickly. Our next setup featured greenery. I brought in a couple of faux baby pine trees and set them next to a cute wooden crate. I wrapped Oliver in sage green and adorned his head with a matching knit cap. These were some of my favorites. Additionally, I took a few of Oliver on a plain backdrop. We finished with Oliver in a bear onesie. I prepped these for composites, and composited him into the greenery image above, and the Valentine’s Day image below.
Ultimately it was a sweet, fun and wonderful newborn session!
