Spring is my favorite time of year. Although there’s still a chill in the air and an occasional snow storm, it feels like life can begin again. Having spent so many years in Arizona I have grown a deep appreciation for spring, especially here in Europe. The trees and flowers, buzzing bees, and vibrant color everywhere is breathtaking. Last spring I was still getting my business up and running so I put out a model call for a spring maternity session. I chose Kallyn to model and selected the Kurpark Bad Homburg for her session.
We began her session by the Orangerie, a beautiful, old building was surrounded by purple, yellow, blue, and orange flowers. Kallyn wore a flowing white boho gown that was simple, but a perfect complement to her surroundings. We stayed in basically the same location, but I captured it from different angles for variety. For the next photos I wanted to capture some nearby gardens and a magnificent blooming tree. Kallyn was game to get in the tree for the tree photos and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
Our next set of photos featured Kallyn in one of the maternity gowns from my client closet. It’s a red, sequined gown with a chiffon mermaid skirt. It’s a gorgeous gown that photographs beautifully in sunlight, and that evening we were treated to a beautiful sunset. I chose to pose Kallyn against a column from a nearby monument. Her red dress backlit by the sun while she leaned against the red column was absolute magic! I photographed her against the column followed by her standing inside the monument, the sun still shining behind her. We ended the session near a large patch of tulips by the Kurpark bank. The images from her session were intoxicating.
