I met the lovely Meador family last fall. They had scheduled with me to shoot at a beautiful park in downtown Wiesbaden. Unfortunately due to inclement weather we had to cancel their session. Fall is my busiest time of year, which makes rescheduling cancelled sessions quite difficult. Fortunately I had a spot left in Bad Homburg fall minis, and thankfully they were amenable to the change.
The day of their session was beautiful! Although there was a bit of fall chill in the air, the sun was warmly shining and colorful fall leaves were everywhere. The small old town of Bad Homburg is beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing and flowers are still abundant. The Meador family booked with me because their time in Germany was coming to a close. They wanted their photos in a location with German architecture that was fitting for their traditional lederhosen and dirndls. Bad Homburg is a terrific location for this with it’s half-timbered homes, cobblestone streets, and medieval towers.
Old town Bad Homburg is a small area, but within the area are countless locations for picturesque German photos. We began in a spot where the sun peeked between two trees with their leaves a beautiful golden yellow. Our second location was in front of a gorgeous little home surrounded by greenery and flowers. One of my favorite things about Germany in the spring, summer, and fall, flowers are everywhere! We walked to a couple of other nearby locations with towers and half-timbered buildings where I photographed mom and dad separately with the kids. We finished the session on a small street with a perfect view of a medieval tower. I photographed on last family photo, and followed with couples photos of Mr. and Mrs. Meador. I loved the session!
