The Newton’s were a lovely couple that I had the privilege of photographing during one of the most breathtaking times of year in downtown Wiesbaden, SPRING! After seeing one of my Instagram videos of the daffodils downtown, she contacted me and we scheduled immediately before the blooms were gone. The day was breezy and slightly overcast, but gorgeous. The park was filled with trees covered in pink and white blooms, and daffodils covered the ground in all directions!
Although it’s a small park, all the natural beauty provided a plethora of amazing backdrops in a small space. We made our way around the lake stopping at every patch of flowers we could find. Daffodils with a city background, spring flowers in planters, the pink trees, the white trees…we stopped to capture everything. Our session was relatively short, but from the incredibly large amount of photos I shared below, a lot can be captured in a short time and small space.
My focus with couples is romance and capturing them in the moment. I photographed the Newton’s walking, dancing, kissing, cuddling, sharing glances, and some amazing backbends. They were adorably sweet and so much fun to work with. The chilly spring air didn’t slow us down and we stayed active with the poses and moving around the park. The shot the last images with the Newton’s sitting amongst the daffodils together.
If you want to book a spring session downtown, the best time for flowers is the weeks around Easter. The beginning of April to the beginning of May, if they last that long. Some years I have noticed that the flowers are losing their blooms by the third week of April. The flowers don’t last long, but they are spectacular. If you want to book a spring session, plan early.
