The Castelli family booked their session in January prior to their PCS. They wanted to capture the feel of Germany and Mosburg Castle was the perfect backdrop. Typical for January in Germany, the day was cold and cloudy with a bit of wind. Cold days are never fun for kids when they have to pose for photos so I tried to keep the session short and get as much variety as I could in a short time. The Castelli family also brought their sweet dog so I had to shoot quickly.
We began the session on the north side of the castle. This side of the castle has more trees and to me, is generally the more attractive side. I captured the family together and walking to keep things moving so no one got too cold. I wanted another view so after these photos, we walked to the south side of the castle. This side was a bit windier, unfortunately, but we made the best of it.
Here I captured some more family photos, couples photos of mom and dad, and my personal favorite, photos of each parent with both children. These are my favorite because they are generally filled with love and affection, as well as play and laughter. These are the photos that capture kisses, cuddles, hugs, tickles, and some up-in-the-air fun.
We captured a few more images by the lake with the kids. and one family shot while everyone warmed themselves in their jackets. We finished the session on the tree-lined path to Schloss Biebrich. Although cold and hurried, I love how the session turned out. There was so much love and sweetness to capture, my heart was overflowing throughout my entire editing process. Biebrich park was a beautiful location for this family.
