Adrianne’s maternity session was on a beautiful spring evening at Sabino Canyon, one of my favorite Tucson locations. The sun was bright, but soft, and the was weather pleasant and warm. My favorite location at Sabino Canyon boasts giant saguaros, hoards of jumping cholla, and amazing desert views. We began the session in the giant grove of saguaros. When the sun is high, the saguaros create an enthralling natural backdrop that filters the light marvelously. For Adrianne and Eric’s session, the saguaros did indeed filter the light, and created dreamy ambiance for their first photos.
My other favorite spot at Sabino is amongst the jumping cholla. If you know what jumping cholla is, you KNOW it’s not something to mess with, BUT, it creates a dreamy backdrop. I am extremely careful when it comes to jumping cholla and my clients. My young clients are not positioned anywhere near it, and I make sure my older clients are always a safe distance. Adrianne and Eric were perfect for photos in the cholla, and stayed safe. The golden light of the setting sun illuminated the deadly spines of the cactus almost angelically. One of these photos amongst the cholla captured a rainbow sun halo during a kiss. It was magical.
The rest of their session utilized the incredible saguaros nearby, and the gorgeous, soft, spring light. Although their session didn’t last much longer than an hour, we captured a huge variety of photos. The photos at the end of their session were my favorite. Adrianne looked like a dream in the teal blue dress she wore, which was an exquisite contrast to the colors of the Sonoran desert. The sun was just setting, and the golden-red light through the saguaros was enchanting. The final photos were pure love, light, and desert beauty.
