Toddlers & Tickles at Tanque Verde
I first met the Schlosser family last fall when they booked a fall mini-session with me on Mt. Lemmon. Sadly, on the way up to their shoot, their oldest got sick in the car. Poor little guy was not his usual happy, cheery, playful-self. We went ahead with the session, but planned on doing a make-up shoot at a later date when he was back to his usual, happy self.
We found another date and time in my busy schedule, and scheduled their second session. This time they chose a location close to home, Tanque Verde Guest Ranch. The beautiful ranch is situated near the Rincon Mountains next to Saguaro National Park with breathtaking view. Tanque Verde Guest Ranch is great for kids. It has a lake for throwing rocks, a big lawn for running and rolling, and a paddock full of horses. The evening of the shoot was beautiful with warm sun and mild temps. It was the perfect evening and George was indeed a happy little boy. We started by the ranch’s lake. I captured some gorgeous family photos and precious moments with mom and dad with both their boys.
As is normal with toddlers, George last about 10 minutes posing for photos, so we walked back to the main part of the ranch to romp in the grass. There was running, tickling, tossing, exploration and lots of laughs. I photographed the Schlosser family enjoying the evening with their boys. It wasn’t long before he ventured toward the horse paddock. The ranch has many horses, and thankfully they were calm and amendable to pets by little hands. Since George was long past more posing, I photographed the family interacting with the horses at sunset. For me, it was a picturesque end to the session, and evening.
