We all Scream for Hub Ice Cream
Adventures in Ice Cream with Local Food Blogger Lady Lunching
As Tucson’s Monsoon season subsides and the heat of summer returns, I’m dreaming about cooler days—and cool treats on hot days. Treats such as Lady Lunching and I found at the Hub Ice Cream Factory earlier this summer. The Hub Ice Cream Factory is located in the heart of downtown Tucson on Congress St. It boasts an array of unusual flavors like Lychee Rose Garden, Strawberry Tres Leches Cake, and Bourbon Almond Brittle.
The flavors are unique and the tastes mind-blowing, but more importantly the inside of the shop is darling! It’s bright red and white patterned floors and soft blue walls emanated a fun and uplifting vibe. Giant lighted letters hung over the ice cream coolers spelling “ICE” with “cream” written sweetly on the wall behind. Several vintage white table and chair sets sat opposite the ice cream and lighted letters. Each decorated with a small tin of pastel flowers and a striped pinwheel. The pastel colors carried throughout the shop to ice cream cone balloons, hula hoops and beach balls. The Hub’s decor screamed SUMMER, and I screamed for more Hub ice cream.
Although the shop is fabulous and fun, Hub Ice Cream is also available to take home. Opposite the shop’s entrance are coolers with pints of their delicious ice cream for on-the-go treats. Because it was 105 degrees the day we visited and our first stop, I didn’t purchase any. Next time, however, I will be taking some home.
Although our shoot inside the Hub Ice Cream Factory resulted with sticky fingers, we had a fun and delicious time. I can’t wait to return and leisurely enjoy more of their products. This week is the perfect time as our mid-September temps are forecasted to hit the low 100’s.
Stay tuned for my next post on my visit to Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink with Lady Lunching.
